The King's Ginger & Cheese Hamper
The sweetness of the Kings Ginger compliments the saltiness of the cheese, acting as a drink version of a membrillo/fruit. Think of it as a more approachable, modern take on a classic port.
King's Ginger (50cl) - First made for King Edward VII who desired a high strength liqueur that would warm and revivify himself. Crafted from fresh ginger and enlivened by the judicious addition of citrus oil, the King’s Ginger was born. Rich, golden and delightfully crisp in flavour.
Colton Bassett Stilton (500g) - Mellow, smooth and creamy with evenly spread blue veins, it balances sweet, savoury and salty notes. Wonderously complex
Shorrock's Lancashire Bomb (460g) - Made by Andrew Shorrock using pasteurised milk from his own herd of Freisian cows and a vegetarian rennet, the cheese is matured for 24 months. It has a wonderfully creamy and crumbly texture, with a strong mature flavour - a proper tasty Lancashire Cheese. It is wrapped in muslin and dipped into wax creating a distinctive cheese like no other. The cheese is perfect for sharing, simply slice the top off with a knife and spoon out the cheese.
Camembert Fromagerie du Val d'Ay (250g) - Deeply flavoured, aged before delivery this unpasteurised cheese is everything a connoisseur would want from a Camembert.
Millers Wheat wafers (125g) - a perfect crunchy foil to the rich flavours of the cheese.
